As you work towards optimal health and wellbeing, Co-founder and independent OPTAVIA Coach, Dr. Wayne Scott Andersen, suggests following the “Trilogy Wheel” in Your LifeBook. The “Trilogy Wheel” encompasses the idea that a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy finances are key in achieving Lifelong Transformation, One Healthy Habit at a Time.

A healthy body looks and feels different for everyone, but it’s important to remember that you own your transformation. Making simple changes to your nutrition, lifestyle, and stress management can help provide you with positive long-term results.

Consider these tips as you work the Trilogy Wheel into your daily routine:

  • Eat healthy. The food you eat can influence your mood and energy levels. A healthy diet includes a variety of vegetables, healthy fats, and lean proteins. Next time you need to go to the grocery store, try the variety of fresh fall veggies to include in your Lean & Green meals. Visit the OPTAVIA App to select a week’s worth of Lean & Green recipes and note the ingredients before you head to the market! You can download the NEW Client App in the Apple (App) or the Android (Google Play) store.
  • Practice healthy sleep. Sufficient sleep is crucial for anyone working towards optimal health. Staying up late, or sleeping minimal hours each night, will cloud your ability to think clearly and logically. Dr. A recommends, at minimum, eight hours of sleep each night.
  • Exercise. When you are ready, implementing light exercise into your routine is an excellent way to work towards a healthy body. Take a walk around your neighborhood, opt for the stairs instead of the elevator, or play outside with your kids.
  • Take time to relax. Even though it is important to get your body moving, it is equally as essential to give your body time to relax when needed. So grab a book, light some candles, and take some time for yourself to reflect on your journey.

The holiday season is officially upon us! While it’s usually a wonderful time of the year, it can also be busy and cause unwanted stress.

Whether it's finding the perfect gifts, making meals for multiple family dinners, or dressing up your home like a winter wonderland, the holiday season can be taxing.

Despite the demands of this time of year, there are plenty of ways to minimize stress.

I recommend these tips to ensure you stay on course:

  • Plan your shopping. Organize your shopping strategically by setting a budget and writing a gift list. With your list and budget set, hit the stores or opt for online shopping. This year, it’s important to get shopping early to avoid empty shelves or shipping delays, so get started as soon as possible.
  • Invest in yourself. The more you have to manage on your to-do list, the more important it is to take time for self-care so you can approach your tasks with presence and positivity. Give yourself an early present by dedicating time to your favorite activity or treating yourself to an at-home spa day.
  • Choose quality over quantity. Keeping up with traditions and planning holiday activities are fun, but we can go overboard while trying to make everything perfect. Remember that spending quality time with loved ones is most important.
  • Know your limits. Don’t be afraid to pull in others to help! Prioritize the items that need your attention first and if certain tasks can wait, revisit them when the holiday hustle and bustle settles.
  • Take a mindful break. If you want to set the stage for an optimal day, stop and take a quick relaxation break. For example, try a breathing exercise or take a quick walk to calm and center yourself.

Remember, the holiday season is all about relaxing and spending extra time with your loved ones. Ask me, your independent OPTAVIA Coach, about other tips to follow to ensure a calm and happy holiday season!

Living Out Loud

From the outside, Jami appeared to have it all: her high school sweetheart husband, two children, a successful corporate career, and a booming social life.

On the inside, though, Jami was unhappy. “I found little to no joy in any of my blessings because I was plagued by all of the side effects of my obesity. I could only wear one pair of shoes due to joint pain, and I avoided social media pictures all together. My days were an endless cycle of slogging through life, pleasing everyone else at the expense of my own health."

Tired of her drained lifestyle, Jami decided to give OPTAVIA a try and start her journey to optimal health and wellbeing.

After six weeks on plan, Jami became an independent OPTAVIA Coach, and her mother was her first OPTAVIA Client! She began to see her life transform right in front of her eyes.

“I found freedom in living all the way out LOUD in all areas of my family/social circles and quickly learned that I was a lighthouse to guide others to their own breakthroughs. I stopped wearing all black and wore colors that reflected the joy I felt on the inside. I chose to show up on multiple social media platforms as my most authentic self.”

Jami is down 90 lbs* down and loving the physical, social, and financial stability OPTAVIA has provided her.**

*Average weight loss on the Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Plan® is 12 pounds. Clients are in weight loss, on average, for 12 weeks.
