Eating small meals frequently helps reduce hunger and adequately fuels your body throughout the day. It also ensures that your body has balanced energy during digestion.
In Element 08 of Your LifeBook, Co-founder and independent OPTAVIA Coach, Dr. Wayne Scott Andersen designed a Habits of Health Clock to build into your routine, so you can create more optimal days on your journey!
Follow these tips when developing a schedule that works for you, to keep on top of your daily Fuelings intake:
- Stick to your Fueling schedule. Set an alarm for two to three-hour increments after you eat your breakfast, so you are alerted throughout the day when it’s time to eat Fuelings and your Lean & Green meal. Remember to eat breakfast within 30 – 60 minutes of waking up to jump-start your metabolism!
- List your Fueling routine. Grab Your LifeBook, your OPTAVIA Guide, or a food journal, and jot down exactly what you eat every two to three hours, as well as when and where you will eat it. Connecting the time and place with your food choices helps to install healthy habits. Try to plan by choosing which OPTAVIA Fuelings you will eat during the day, and what protein and vegetables you will eat for your Lean & Green meal.
- Determine the benefits. Keep a list of all the instant benefits of eating a Fueling every two to three hours with you at all times, and include your WHY to keep you motivated. Here are a few to get you started: you may be less hungry in between meals, have more energy, or be less likely to overeat during subsequent meals.
- Use the OPTAVIA App. If you haven’t already, download the OPTAVIA App today from the App (Apple)or Google Play (Android) stores. The App now includes more than 150 OPTAVIA approved Lean & Green recipes to utilize when planning for the week.

Now that spring is upon us, it is time to enjoy the fresh flowers, vegetables, and all the changes that Mother Nature brings. It is also the perfect time to think about DIY projects you can complete in the warmer weather!
Looking for some springtime crafts, check out the following:
- Spring into motion! On top of these exciting ideas, you can also leverage the nice weather to practice healthy motion, whether it’s a light walk around the neighborhood or a new hike with the whole family.
- DIY wreaths. Swap out your old décor for a custom springtime wreath. Twigs, blossoming trees, and herbs are all great bases for a quick DIY wreath.
- At-home face mask. Spring cleaning doesn't just mean cleaning your house! With a new season here, it is important to take care of your skin. Try this purifying at-home face mask:
- Combine 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 egg white, and a little squeeze of lemon juice.
- Massage onto your skin and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
- Rinse with a warm, gentle washcloth and pat dry.
- Create a new centerpiece. Pull out the mason jars and grab some fresh flowers from outside to put on tables around the house. Have the kids help decorate the mason jars and water the flowers each morning!

Ingredients
1½ lbs. rotisserie chicken breast, skin-removed, chopped
4 cups diced celery
¼ cup fresh tarragon, finely chopped
¼ cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
¼ cup non-fat Greek yogurt
20 large lettuce leaves, such as romaine or butterhead
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground black pepper

Directions
- In a bowl, toss together chicken, celery, tarragon, mayonnaise, and yogurt. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- For one portion, serve 6 ounces of chicken salad with 5 lettuce leaves to make wraps.

Full Circle Moment
